Kubu Kubu Tented Lodge

Early mornings and late afternoons are the best times for predator sightings. Listen for alarm calls from other animals - they often indicate a predator is nearby. The kopjes (rock formations) are excellent places to look for lions and leopards.
After breakfast, set out on a final Serengeti game drive as you make your way east to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Along the journey, landscapes shift from endless plains to lush highlands. Upon arrival, you'll descend 600 meters into the Ngorongoro Crater, a UNESCO World Heritage Site often called the "Eighth Wonder of the World." Inside this ancient caldera lies an extraordinary ecosystem, home to elephants, hippos, wildebeest, zebras, and a dense lion population. If lucky, you may spot the endangered black rhino. After an exhilarating crater tour and picnic lunch, you'll continue to your luxury lodge in Karatu for dinner and overnight.

The crater offers excellent photographic opportunities throughout the day. Look for reflections in Lake Magadi, especially for flamingo shots. The Lerai Forest is great for elephant photography, while the open plains are perfect for action shots of predators. The crater rim provides panoramic views perfect for landscape photography.
This morning, depart Karatu after breakfast and drive to Tarangire National Park, famous for its vast elephant herds and giant baobab trees. The Tarangire River winds through the park, acting as a lifeline during the dry season, drawing large concentrations of wildlife. On game drives, you'll likely encounter elephants cooling off by the river, graceful giraffes browsing treetops, and prides of lions resting in the shade. Tarangire is also a bird-lover's paradise, with over 500 bird species recorded. Enjoy a picnic lunch in the park before heading to your lodge, where you'll spend the evening relaxing amidst the wild sounds of Africa.

After an early breakfast, set out for a final morning game drive in Tarangire, soaking in the beauty and tranquility of the bush one last time. Watch as elephants march across the plains, antelopes graze peacefully, and predators prepare for the day's hunt. Following your safari, enjoy lunch inside the park before returning to Arusha.
